The theory does not differentiate between society and nature, true and false, content and context, micro and macro levels, agency and structure, etc. but treats everything as a result of collective activities that are networked together with heterogeneous elements amalgamated together. It identifies these elements as actors that can be textual, conceptual, social and technical. Actor Network Theory Actor Network Theory (ANT) is a conceptual framework that explores socio-technological processes suggesting that scientific work is not much different from the work of social activities. This theory doesnt favor any one of realism or social constructivism views but believes in juxtaposition of social, technical, textual and conceptual processes bringing transformations. Act on Act on Humans ANT does not differentiate between a non-human entity and human entity on the basis of ontology. ANT states that non-human entities are equally important in the network and not completely controlled by human actants. Act on Material Environment ANT usually describes the infrastructure of assemblage i.e. assemblage. It focuses on the formation and breaking of the network. Act on Cultures ANT has also been used in preforming research on stability of assemblage hence is considered to impact the quality and complexity of the systems. Story 1: Apple co-founder criticises company over Apple Watch In this story, Wonziac expresses his dissatisfaction with the product development approach that is taken by Tim Cook as the CEO of the Apple organization. He believed in the capability of the company to innovate and come up with unique products in the times when Steve Jobs was heading the organization but the new approach in which all watches products look similar with only differences in colors and the designs, Wonziac compares the same with a jewelry business claiming that the brand is losing its originality and innovation as a capability. This story suggests how technological transformations are affected by the social concerns. The actants in this story include the people that are Steve Jobs, Tim Cook and Wozniak, texts that include the promotional campaigns and news coverage provided to the concerns, material that is the technology used for the watch as a product that is newly launched by Apple, and conceptual actants that include the company values and process that were established by the organization. According to the theory, this story can be seen as a network formed out of these elements such that they are juxtaposed to affect the collective activity. For instance, Steve Jobs is an actant as per theory who has affected the social as well as material side of the organization by establishing processes while Wonziak as an individual actor agrees with this processes by disagrees with the approaches taken by Tim Cook who is another actant as per the theory. There are different nodes and links that can be identified in the story to be forming the network that is a mix of all identified elements. These nodes include three individuals including Tim Cook, Steve Jobs and Wonziak, technological element that is the watch, conceptual element that is the innovation streak of the organization as well as Apple as a brand and textual element in the form of promotional exposure the new product is getting in the media. Connections or links can be made between these different categories of elements such as: Steve Jobs can be linked to the innovative streak of Apple Tim Cook can be connected to the innovation again while he aims to make changes in the regular approach set by Steve Jobs Apple brand as an actant can be connected with every other element affecting every decision that is taken by any other actant of the network Apple as a brand and as an organization collectively is responsible for producing the apple watch and thus, a direct connection can be established between the two actants. The products produced by Apple were affected by the position of the CEO such that when Steve Jobs was heading the division, the products manufactured were innovative, unique and with rich functionalities for its customers while when the same division is head by Tim Cook, the approach to product development changes such that the products are more focused on the price points that are significant and the users who would be buying the same would be concerned more about the status rather than the innovative features that were provided by Apple products at the time it was headed by Steve Jobs. Culture scale In the story, the resulting assemblage formed out of all these elements is the Apple Watch Market that is newly formed from the four types of elements that include Tim Cook who is the core decision maker of production, Apple brand which brings out the associations of status with users, the textual messages disbursed by the actants like Wonziac who has a negative view of the product and the technological capabilities of the organization. This assemblage would affect how the product would perform in the market. Story 2: Your selfish driving is making urban congestion worse This story talks about a plan of local authorities in different countries that are used for reducing traffic congestion on busy streets of the cities. USA demands road users to diversify their routes such that getting to destination becomes faster for everyone together. OpenStreetMaps are used by them for analyzing journeys of road users using mobile phone data sets called CDRs such that their movements, timestamps, starting and ending points of the time can be identified using real time GPS data. It was found by researchers of University of Birmingham that 15-30 minutes out of total day commute is lost due to bad routing and thus 30 % less time can be spend in congestion if routing is right. This would however require drivers to adjust routes for benefits of others such that numbers of drivers who get benefited are more than the number of drivers making sacrifices. Smart phone applications can be used for identification of optimum routes by these drivers aimed to reduce congestion. Autonomous vehicles can be used for making self-adjustments to routes for reducing congestion in future. In this story, actants can be clearly identified as be textual, conceptual, social and technical including social actors that are drivers, traffic control authorities and regular commuters of the cities using the network. Technical actors would include the GPS systems, OpenStreeMaps, CDRs, mobile applications, and autonomous cars. Textual actants would include the promotional campaigns, media messages that are displaced for creating awareness about the congestion in the drivers as well as the messages that are displayed by the technological applications for making them aware of the best routing options for the travel. As per the theory, various kinds can be established between these actants such as : The drivers that make the social actants are affected by the technological actants that include cars, mobile applications such that they would chose the appropriate routes for their travel. Compromise of the drivers in the use of applications and routes that are the technological actants would also affect other social drivers by making it easy for them to commute thereby reducing the congestion on the road, The textual messages spread by the authorities on the awareness of the congestion and use of optimized routes for travelling would affect both technical capabilities as more applications would be used or developed as well as autonomous cards would gain visibility as well as the social connections or actants that include other drivers who would gain control over their time taken for travel as well as the time spend in the congestion. Cultural Scale On the culture scale, the story identifies that drivers do impact the road network. All these actants form the assemblage that is formed from drivers, technological applications, materials like cars, and the capabilities of authorities in convincing drivers of making use of the best routing and comprising for the benefit of whole society that is the part of the assemblage. This will result in reducing the congestion by considerable level. Knowledge Scale On the knowledge scale, the story states that alternate and short routing mechanism do reduce the congestion and having good knowledge of online maps can facilitate them to contribute more in reducing the congestion. Enhancing Management On the basis of analysis of two computing news, it can be stated that technologies do enhance the working of the actants. In story 2, several other technologies for example: self driving cars, can also be used in addition to current maps. Driverless cars can help in estimating short routes to reduce the congestion level. Issues raised by Contemporary Computing On the basis of analysis of two computing stories, it can be depicted that human behavior does get affected by the introduction of phones and new technologies. This results because of the increase in dependency level among them. Contemporary computing indeed helps the facilitating communication between both the sides but it does affect the human neural competency as it leads to inputting more data than it can be used. The main reason of contemporary computing to remain in our daily is the amount of feedback obtained through it. Conclusion It was found that the various actants work together on the performance of the assemblage that includes nodes in the forms of the individual actants and the connections that take forward the assemblage to perform at a certain level. Various actants appear to be different and disconnected with each other while performing their own activities but when forming the whole assemblage, they get affected by each other. For instance, in case of the Apple story, the social actant that was Tim Cook affected how the products were developed and promoted while the technological capabilities of the organization affected how the brand was seen in the eyes of social actors that included the users of the Apple devices. In the similar manner, in the story of congestion, the social actants including drivers and commuters on the road were affected by technological elements like cars, GPS, CDS, mobile applications that affect the way routes are chosen by social actors that include drivers. The Real World free essay sample

Four girls, picked to live in a quad, and have their lives changed, more than they could have ever imagined. Freshman and sophomore year I was wrapped tightly in a cocoon of uncertainly, self consciousness, and a sense that I didn’t even know who I was. My roommates Caitlin, Lizzie, and Kristen not only made the struggles of junior year tolerable, unexpectedly, they forced their way into my life and me out of that cocoon. Each of them taught me something different that sculpted my morals and will prepare me for whatever lies ahead. Whoever said that you meet some weird people in your life, probably said that after one encounter with Caitlin. A combination of ADD and a phobia of body hair is formula for a messy girl with her life in order. Caitlin has the biggest heart of anyone I know and the tenderness she exudes is noticed by all. We will write a custom essay sample on The Real World or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page One night, as Caitlin was Nairing her mustache, Caitlin stated â€Å"I just don’t want to leave here somebody I am not.† Though it was hard to take her seriously, the words resonated in my head and it really got me thinking. It was that simple. Be yourself. That night, something changed, whatever wall I was putting up for society was being bulldozed by this terse statement coming from a girl with a pseudo milk mustache. It became clear that the only way I was going to survive one more year at boarding school was to realize that I am who I am, and conforming to some social standard was no way to live. Looking at Caitlin I imagined her as a miniature Buddha with a sparkling upper lip and a flicker of wisdom in her eyes. Martha Stewart has nothing on my own personal Suzie Homemaker. With a headband delicately placed on top of her golden blonde hair and pearl studs adoring her earlobes, Lizzie opened her arms to me when I felt as though my own world was caving in. My boyfriend and I just broke up and I thought it was the end of the world. In a stage of weakness I was under the impression that my life would cease to exist because of the loneliness that would soon take over. Lizzie looked me in the eyes and said, â€Å"People will always surprise you, the only person you can rely on is yourself.† At the time, I felt as though that was the worst thing she could have said. On top of all my heartbreak, she was facilitating my disdain for the human race and making things worse. As I pulled myself together, the quote flooded back to me. Why had I felt so worthless after something as menial as a breakup? I realized that I had stopped loving myself. Loving yourself seems like common sense, but it took a girl wrapped in a pink monogrammed blanket to pull me out of the darkness and show me the proverbial light. Nike running shorts and Hanes t-shirts are a staple for my third roommate Kristen. Kristen has taught me the most through my own personal observation. Watching her carefully double knot her Nikes and pull her hair tight into a rubber band, I know that she is about to step onto the field and leave everything behind. There is something to be said about someone who is captain of all three of their varsity sports. Her leadership and persistence is equally captured when it comes to her friends and family. Watching her makes me want to live my life with the same sense of dedication and appreciation for life. With all three of my roommates going their separate ways to their respective colleges, I will have one more year at boarding school. With the help of three unique and special girls, I am equipped with the knowledge to take charge of my dorm, take charge of my life, and finish my time at Culver with another great year. Gandhi once said â€Å"The main purpose of life is to live rightly, think rightly, act rightly. The soul must languish when we give all our thought to the body.† As I begin my final year of high school without them I will relish the memories and fondly recall the lessons from Caitlin to live rightly, from Lizzie to think rightly, and from Kristen to act rightly.

Drug Legalization essays

Drug Legalization essays Although it is apparent that Americas drug plague is reaching epidemic proportions, costing US taxpayers an estimated 20 billion dollars in a year, the legalization of drugs cannot be economically justified. Despite pro-legalization arguments, the estimated economic benefit that would be derived from the legalization of drugs would not compare to the enormous social-economic costs that would result. The main assumption that is made concerning the legalization of drugs is that taxes on drugs could raise large amounts of revenue. First, this assumption is simply untrue if compared to the tax revenues collected on alcohol, a legal drug. The total tax revenue from the sale of alcohol is $13.1 billion a year while alcohol extracts over $100 billion a year in social costs. (Magginnis, 2001) This assumption also does not take into consideration that legalization would perpetuate the criminal black market. Government regulations on drug sales would open the doors to cheaper, more potent drugs being offered to under-aged users who could not obtain the legal version. This criminal sale of drugs would continue the need to spend money funding additional law enforcement and judicial personnel. The legalization of drugs would also help bring in many new drug users. It has already been proven that drug use and abuse is reduced by drug prohibition. Demand is less when the drug is illegal. The use of heroin and cocaine, two popular illegal drugs, usually begins in social situations. The likelihood of an initial user obtaining the drug from a drug dealer is slim. In one study it was found that almost 90 percent of the initial use of cocaine took place at a party or other informal social event. About 70 percent of new users obtained it from friends or relatives. Only 5 percent of the new users obtained it from dealers. (Edgmand, Moomaw, Olson, 2001) Thus a vicious circle emerges; societys increased social interaction wi...

Is there an appropriate balance between the right to protect your Essay

Is there an appropriate balance between the right to protect your reputation with the law of defamation and the right to free speech - Essay Example Obviously democratic societies benefit from free and open speech as well as providing compensation for those who are injured by false damaging statements. However, the law of defamation allows for â€Å"remarkable restriction of the freedom to speak and write.†1 This point is amply substantiated by the evaluating the law of defamation and the right to free speech with particular emphasis on how the courts have protected the reputation of the individual The English law of defamation is decidedly complicated.2 The complexities stem from a variety of technical and detailed rules contained in both common law principles and legislative provisions.3 Moreover, the common law has been modified by the Defamation Act 1952 and the Defamation Act 1996 and by the European Convention on Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms which have been indorsed by the Human Rights Act 1998.4 Under English law defamation can be founded by virtue of either libel or slander.5 Libel typically refers to the print form although libel does not necessarily require that it was committed by word.6 For instance in Monson v Tussauds Ltd a wax effigy was held to be sufficient to substantiate a libel.7 Ultimately, the libel is required to be such that it makes permanent imputations against the character of another8. Common forms of libel are usuall published by television broadcasts, newspapers, video and audio recordings.9 Slander, however can be made by virtue of non-permanent forms and is typically committed by word of mouth. A claim in slander requires that the plaintiff prove special damages unless the alleged slander is founded on one of the following grounds: Be that as it may, the plaintiff is at liberty to lodge a complaint with the court and the defendant is required to prove that the statement is true.12 The fact that the plaintiff is at liberty to lodge a complaint so easily, speaks to the strict protection of individual reputations under

Cjus 340 DB3 Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words

Cjus 340 DB3 - Essay Example Contrary to that environmental criminologists concentrate on the place and the time of crime. They also use map as a tool to find out crime patterns in respective locations (Brantingham & Brantingham 49). Apart from the mentioned factors, the family environment plays pivotal role in upbringing of a child. If environmental problems exist in the family then the child is most likely to fall prey to the criminal activities. The root cause of a crime as per the researches conducted by the researchers is poverty, poor educational system and the family structure. Communication gap within the family and poor relationship amongst the family members inculcates bad behavior in children (Brantingham & Brantingham 53). It is observed that a family which is financially weak and has more children than required contributes towards criminal activities. Abusing and neglecting a child is another factor to promote antisocial activities. Physiological and Sociological surveys indicate that 50 percent children are at a risk of criminal activities for being neglected, abused and deprived from their due rights. Hence, juvenile delinquencies are on the rise in United States of America (Eysenck

Jesus Christ Essay Example for Free

Jesus Christ Essay Hate is one of the human’s feelings. It is a complex subject to study its reasons, causes and consequences. Broadly saying hate in this or that manifestation is one of the reasons of the majority of the violent crimes. Hate is used as an ideological background for a number of violent acts ranging from the street and terrorist attacks to full scale wars. Hate may be either justified in this or that way or it may be impulsive, based on the race, religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or national origin. In the first case when the hate is caused by the unjust treatment it may be defined as rational, in the second one it is irrational (John R. Schafer, MA and Joe Navarro, MA, 2003). One of the most significant examples of the hate group is Aryan Nations. Aryan Nations is a typical hate organization promoting the white race supremacy. It is the political arm of the White Identity Church of Jesus Christ-Christian, long led by Richard Butler. The movement promotes the heresy known as Christian Identity. (Apologetics Index, 2006). The ideological background of the Aryan Nations is anti-Semitism. Paramilitary hate group Aryan Nations was founded in the mid-1970s by Rev. Richard Girnt Butler, now 77 years old. It was formed around Butlers Church of Jesus Christ Christian, one of the several hundred churches affiliated with Identity, a pseudo-theological hate movement. Identity doctrine maintains that Anglo-Saxons, not Jews, are the Biblical chosen people, that non-whites are mud people on the level of animals, and that Jews are children of Satan. (The Nizkor Project, 2006). The anti-Semitism has been of the main hate ideologies since the biblical times. It was utilized by the worst human hating regimes, the most vivid examples of which were the Fascist regimes in Germany and Italy. The anti-Semitism doctrine as an ideology compromised itself in the 20th century. Aryan Nations militantly advocates anti-Semitism and the establishment of a white racist state. A statement of beliefs on the Aryan Nations Web site declares: The Jew is like a destroying virus that attacks our racial body to destroy our Aryan culture and purity of our race. Those of our Race who resist these attacks are called chosen and faithful. † (Aryan Nations/Church of Jesus Christ Christian, 2006). In their â€Å"Declaration of Independence† the ideologists of the Aryan Nations declare threat to the white Americans from the federal government which pursues the interests of the Jewish rulers. The ideologists of the Aryan Nations state that only the Anglo-Saxon, Germanic, Teutonic, Scandinavian, Celtic peoples are the descendants of biblical Adam and the rest are the descendants of Cain and they are the results of the Eve’s original sin. The Aryan Nations leaders identify the Jews as the main threat to the white race. This movement could be considered as political and a religious movement. This is one of the causes of the extreme danger of Aryan Nations. Violence is declared by the leaders of the group. The motto of the group as indicated in its web site is Violence Solves Everything! †. Still the original biblical part of the ideology of the Aryan Nation has been completely confused because the calls for violence became the dominating ones. The ideologies of Aryan Nations declaring their Christian origin try to support their violent call with the Muslim militant motto â€Å"Allahu Akbar! † (http://www. aryan-nations. org/) thus bringing complete confusion into their ideological basis. According to Aryan Nations â€Å"That VIOLENCE IS THE ONLY SOLUTION! You can no longer look toward local, state or federal law enforcement authorities to protect you, your families or your interests from these invaders† (Aryan Nations web site, 2006). The â€Å"Christian† identity of Aryan Nations was expressed by the leader of the group August Kreis in his comments on the 9/11 attacks and his attitude towards Al-Qaeda, â€Å"You say theyre terrorists, I say theyre freedom fighters. And I want to instill the same jihadic feeling in our peoples heart, in the Aryan race, that they have for their father, who they call Allah. (Henry Schuster, March 29, 2005). Such sayings put off the religious part from the Aryan Nations ideology leaving the extremist one. Terror unites the â€Å"proponents† of some special â€Å"violent† Christianity and Mohammedanism. In fact the only things which may unite both groups are the hate, extremism and terror which they share as basic of their ideologies. In fact, Aryan Nations have a lot of common features with the extremist Muslim groups. They share the same anti-Semitism, they accept the same terror methods and they lack any constructive ideology. They both base their activity on the hate which is destructive in its nature. The numerous hate groups whose ideologies are based on the irrational hatred can hardly find any serious political support in such democratic and a multinational country as the United States. As for the connections of the hate groups with the Muslim extremists, they are not new. During the WWII the leader of the German Nazis Adolph Hitler tried to find the connections with the Muslim extremists. Moreover, some Nazis found refuge in Egypt and Syria after WWII. At the same time it is too early to speak about the real alliance between Neo-Nazis and Muslim extremists. Most likely the leaders of Aryan Nations express their desire to create such an alliance and it proves the ultimate danger of the group. â€Å"Mark Potok, of the Southern Poverty Law Center, said that while some U. S. extremists applauded the September 11 attacks, there is no indication of such an alliance at least not yet, and not on a large scale. If it exists anywhere, he said, it is in the mind (and the Internet postings) of August Kreis. † (Henry Schuster, 2005). At the same time the Aryan Nations desire to link to the most dangerous terrorist organization confirms the fact that Aryan Nations may become the serious threat to the national security of the United States. tragoed Elements of Tragedy in Oedipus the King (Oedipus Rex) :: Oedipus the King Oedipus Rex

Elements of Tragedy in Oedipus Rex It is not the tragic subject matter of the text that is of primary interest - but rather the manner in which the plot is developed. The story line progresses as if the reader is "unpeeling an onion." The tale of King Oedipus is well known. An enraged Oedipus unknowingly slays his father (Laiusq, King of Thebes) and supplants him as monarch and as husband to his own mother (Queen Jocasta). As each successive "layer of the onion" is unpeeled, Oedipus is brought a step closer to realizing the true nature of his actions. Foretold in prophecy and initiated by his anger, the downfall of Oedipus comes to fruition as all facts gradually come to light. This "enlightening" starts with the revelations of a blind prophet named Tiresias. Though sightless, Tiresias can "see" the truth. He argues with Oedipus "...you have your sight, and do not see... . Yea, you are ignorant... ."(Sophocles, 15). Understandably, Oedipus is enraged at the prophet's accusations and fatally insists on investigating the murder of King Laius. In Aristotle's Poetics, it is stated that a tragedy must be complete - having a beginning, middle and end. Of equal importance "...the sequence of events, according to the law of probability or necessity, will admit of a change from bad fortune to good or from good fortune to bad."(Aristotle, 15). The impetus for the downfall of Oedipus, "Known far and wide by name" (Sophocles, 1), is his anger. Enraged he slew King Laius and in anger he hastily pursued his own ruination. From the aforementioned recriminations of Tiresias to the conflict with his brother-in-law Creon (his ill temper again displayed - "Tempers such as yours most grievous to their own selves to bear,... .(Sophocles, 25); through the revealing exchanges with his wife/mother Jocasta and her slave (whose pity saved the infant Oedipus), damming insight grows in a logical sequence, all the while fueled by the Oedipal rage. Realizing the heinous nature of his actions, Oedipus blinds himself in a fit of anger and remorse - now, as Tiresias, he can see. In an age where popular entertainment is apparently guided by the maxim "more is better" (see the body count in any popular "action thriller") and "special effects" dominate,

IFRS vs ASPE Essay

Inventory is defined as â€Å"assets held for sale in the ordinary course of business, in the process of production for such sale, or in the form of materials or supplies to be consumed in the production process or in the rendering of services†. The cost of inventory is measured at the lower of cost and net realizable value. The IFRS accounting for inventory is generally converged with ASPE. The only difference between IFRES and ASPE in the accounting for inventory is with borrowing costs. Since some inventory products require significant manufacturing time (qualifying assets), a manufacturer will finance its operating costs by borrowing money. Under ASPE we can choose to capitalize borrowing costs relating to inventory that takes substantial time to get it ready for sale. In comparison with IFRS, borrowing costs associated with qualifying assets are capitalized. Financial Assets financial assets refer to any asset that is â€Å"cash, an equity instrument of another entity, a contractual right, a contract that will or may be settled in the entity’s own equity instruments†. The main differences between IFRS and ASPE exist for scope, classification, and measurement of financial assets. IFRS uses four categories of financial assets: fair value through profit or loss (FVTPL), held-to-maturity (HTM), loans and receivable, and available for sale. ASPE does not use the four categories to group the financial assets. Instead, investments are categorized by their nature: equity, debt, and derivatives. For the joint arrangements perspective, IFRS distinguishes joint operations from joint ventures and require proportionate consolidation for joint operations and the equity method for joint ventures. ASPE, on the other hand, does not distinguish between joint operations from joint ventures and uses the term joint venture to refer to both types of joint arrangements. ASPE allows the proportionate consolidaton, the equity method, and the cost method without any preference for any of them. Another difference between these two accounting standards is the accounting for available for sale investments. IFRS requires that available for sale investments be carried at fair value with unrealized gains or losses going through other comprehensive income, whereas in ASPE there is no concept of other comprehensive income. Portfolio equity investments (PEI) also need to be recorded at fair value in IFRS with the unrealized gains or losses recorded through net income if PEI is classified as held for trading and if classified available for sale unrealized gains or losses flow through other comprehensive income. In comparison with ASPE, equity investments quoted in active market are measured at fair value with gains or losses going through income. Equity investments not quoted in an active market should remain at cost, subject to impairment. Finally, investments in debt under IFRS may be classified as HFT, AFS, or HTM with an amortized cost method that uses the effective interest method. This is not the case under ASPE. ASPE uses both the effective interest method and the straight line method.

Personal Statement The Heart Of London - 1131 Words

Loneliness. Privacy. Anonymity. It’s funny, that words never usually associated with living in a capital city, apply so perfectly to me, however, it is the sad reality faced by a typical 28 year old Brit in the ‘heart’ of London. Conference calls, big red buses and the swarm of tall, grey-suited businessmen with briefcases fighting their way through the typical morning rush to the safety of their 100th floor offices, are all a world apart from the isolated one I exist in. To think that not one in a city populated by 8.5 million would ever stop to spare even a second of their time to converse with me, helps to remind me of the burden I must be to the world. I’m guessing these feelings must have all begun after my brother Graham died – at†¦show more content†¦However, what was different about Graham was that he was the polar opposite of all the dull, arrogant and narrow-minded people I am forced to associate myself with every day. The most important human quality Graham admired was honesty – not just honesty to everyone around you, but honesty to yourself. And this is what made him a role model to so many – obviously in addition to the delicate way he used words to protect what he believed in. He was, still is, my brother. Even in the quiet commotion of life in the never-changing village where we grew up, Graham never failed to make clear to everyone his love for adventure. Always climbing trees and jumping over rivers, it seemed like nothing made him happier than the incomparable feeling of adrenaline pumping through his body. He always appeared to be basing his life on some sort of adventure movie. Guaranteed, he could make even our small uneventful village full of adventure. There was a hole in the hearts of everyone in that village when he died. The only source of excitement and thrill had been taken away. That is why I had to leave. He was everywhere. He still is everywhere. Why did I think that moving away would change that? Back then I couldn’t escape him and I still can’t. He is inescapable. I was drowning in my own despair by thoughts, having lost someone who by nature
